The early 90s were the time of great changes, of a reconstruction which was not reconstructing, and of first humble steps of Russian business.
But even in such years – years of instability and changes – we kept the spirit of romance and high thoughts about the sky. After having completed a flying school, I, as many of my fellow students, started working in Soviet civil aviation as it was called that time. I flew a lot on Antonov An-2 as the first officer in Omsk region. We were providing transportation of cargoes, passengers, post, food products and so on…
It seemed that nothing could shatter the dream that has come true – the dream to fly! But times of changes came and total decline in aviation industry. Light aviation turned to be no longer required as well as flight officers. People who fell under job cut were left to themselves. Myself included. After having tried different careers at last I arranged my own business, in 1998 I opened LLC «Weltall».
But dream of sky haunted my mind. So, in 1999 the first airplane Yakovlev Yak-18T was purchased.
Three years went by. By way of stagewise reorganization since 05.02.2001 the company was reformed into LLC «Weltall-avia».
Currently, a developed infrastructure of flight operations is established in accordance with actual Russian Federation normative base.
Flight safety is the key priority of our company. The ability to respond quickly to changes, elaborate staff collaborative mechanism, technical base and developed infrastructure of flight operations help us to maintain high quality of services provided.
Here the time to alter this chapter of our company story came on.
After having worked for ten years and having flown more than 55 thousand flight hours, the Company succeeded in boosting the coffers with taxes and at this we haven’t lost any aircraft and any human life.
We managed to get through the crisis of 2008-2009, without discharging any of our 160 members of staff. But our Company will no longer follow the rules dictated to us by the Regulator and comply with more and more stiffening and absurd requirements. Modern life sets new missions for us and dictates terms to us.
We were impelled to abandon maintaining infrastructure of our own air company and pass this service on outsourcing to our partners. We sold basic amount of our aircrafts and purchased aerotechnics of foreign make. We still remain holders of all our contracts and have our own flight and technical personnel for all the aircrafts we operate. We joined true partners and congenial fellowship friends who love aviation as we do. We consider that after having left direct control over our own air company, we released tremendous human, financial and timing resources. I dare to hope that they will help us to deal with main matters much more effectively: providing real safety instead of «paper» one, flight personnel training not on paper but de-facto; performing overhaul instead of prolonging their service life limit and a lot more that we can do for You in our renewed company.
